Ive just found a minute from my gorgeous little girl (whose NEVER ENDING energy keeps me run off my feet). She is sleeping now. The poor little chicken has a bit of a cold, and a dry rash on her face :(
Anyway, on to the house.
We have come a long way since our last post. Although we have not had a great deal of work happening the last couple of weeks as the guys have been called off to other jobs. Cam and Jay have been busy however working on the weekends and have made amazing headway.
Alot of the walls have been rendered; some windows and doors have been installed.
They have worked on getting the wall frames up. Downstairs, then upstairs. Then the trusses went up over two weekends. The wall frames and trusses were so exciting as the skeleton gave us a vision of how the rooms will feel and of course how the roof and overall house structure will look. It certainly exceeds our expectations! We have also had a couple of other guys here during the past week on and off, getting some work carried out of the roof. Laying the battens and framing the roof etc.
Here are a few pictures to tickle your fancy...
Firstly, we managed to persuade our neightbours to pay for 1/2 the cost of chopping down THEIR TREE! This tree has been a pain in our you know what for the last 12 years. So, me personally, even though its going to end up costing me $1,000 to remove this problem, I am not too fussed. I will be just happy to have it gone. No more leaves, no more mess, no more spa, no more bird poor, no more risking our lives on stormy nights (or my baby girls). YOu can see it really hangs over our new house too so it really has to go. The size of this bugger and the fault of this baby still being there in a residential area os really the previous owner. He was too tight to pay for it to be trimmed over years and this is the result. Instead he opted to water it for 10 years every day at the same time with lots of water...yes this baby was actually on a dripper. And I can tell you that these photos do not do it justice.
Upstairs before the wall frames.
Above: In this photo you can see on the left where they extended the floor out past the exsiting building (for those who know the area). Where Jay is standing, shows where the existing building floor ends. These photos are also before the Hebel Floor panels where laid. So I have gone back a little bit.
Some night time fun after the Hebel Floor panels have been laid (these are aerated concrete sheets).
