We bought our place about 12 years ago and I guess you could say we definetly had rose coloured glasses on. On handover, with the help of an Uncle and a friend, we got straight in there, stripping and cleaning. By the time we decided to take photos, we had already filled at least two big rubbish skips (9 cubic m each?) with bits and pieces left by the previous owners. There was so much rubbish and old furniture left behind that was broken or not working; damaged glass bottles built into the walls, old internal yard fencing, a knotted mat of bamboo, walls of buffel grass and a huge horse float to name a just a small number of things that went off to 'tipland' or for recycling.
We basically bought a place that looked like a pile of old bricks from the front but from inside, had amazing potential to be so much more....
